October is National Pork Month, and Illinois pork producers and Culver’s restaurants are teaming up to “Bacon Up”! All month long, bacon will take over restaurant counters and guests will be encouraged to add bacon to their ButterBurger® or sandwich orders.

LOWER PORK PRICES

Consumers can expect to pay less for bacon this year with pork prices forecast to be down 23 cents per pound, Purdue University agricultural economist Chris Hurt says. As a result, however, pork producers are expected to see less profit per head.
