University of Illinois Extension will offer a Resilient Farm Roadshow Thursday, February 15 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Chateau Hotel in Bloomington.

The agenda includes a look at cash flow management, risk management and ways to innovate while being cost conscious.

Attendees can also stay for an optional computer session from 1 to 3 p.m. will offer cash flow evaluation for individual farms using FAST tools.

Expand your understanding and skills for managing your farmland with a series of Landowner 101 classes. Instructors will include Don Meyer and Dr. Maria Boerngen of Illinois State University.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Feb. 15 – Farmland Leasing
  • March 1 – Basic Agronomy
  • March 8 – Grain Marketing

Classes will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the McLean County Farm Bureau building, 2242 Westgate Drive in Bloomington.

Cost for each class is $20 per farm or $50 per farm for all three Landowner 101 sessions. More than one person per farm may
attend the sessions.

Farm Bureau members will receive a discount on registration fees.

Certified livestock managers can receive training to renew or obtain their certification Feb. 20 at the McLean County Extension Office, 1615 Commerce Parkway in Bloomington.

The University of Illinois Extension has scheduled workshops to provide Illinois livestock farmers the manure-management training they need to meet the requirements of the state’s Livestock Management Facilities Act.

Workshops begin at 8:30 a.m. and will take 3 1/2 hours, with the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) exam administered afterward.

University of Illinois Extension will offer one-day hands-on workshop will for farmers to expand their understandings of Microsoft Excel applications and introduce FAST spreadsheets developed by agricultural economists.

The seminar will be Feb. 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University of Illinois Extension Office in Champaign (801 N. Country Fair Drive).

Cost for the seminar is $100, but participants can save $30 by bringing their own laptop. Lunch is included.
