Runners Go HogWild with Race, Raise Funds for Fair

Bain Britt (left) of Rock Falls and Ashley Coon of Bloomington were the top overall finishers in the 2018 HogWild 5K Race.

About 125 runners and walkers participated in the inaugural HogWild 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk held July 29 at the McLean County Fairgrounds.

Cool weather made for pleasant run and all participants enjoyed a post-race meal featuring porkburgers prepared by McLean County Pork Producers.

Bain Britt of Rock Falls finished first in the men’s division and Ashley Coon of Blooomington earned top honors in the women’s division.

The top three finishers in each age division received a stuffed pig with an award band. Race timing and results were provided by It’s Race Time, Inc.

All proceeds from the race benefit McLean County Farm Bureau Foundation to support the educational efforts of the McLean County Fair.
