TRADE NEGOTIATION, NOT STRONG-ARMING

In an editorial to Crain’s Chicago Business, IFB Vice President Brian Duncan said it’s time for leaders to do more negotiating and less strong-arming when it comes to trade. “A nation as productive and innovative as the U.S. must seek creative and forward-thinking solutions to inevitable future trade disputes. Ultimately, a rules-based trading system and a multilateral approach to trade negotiations and dispute settlement are far superior to the current path,” Duncan wrote.
