Mid-Day General Session: Growing Season Weather Risk in Agriculture

Eric Snodgrass – Meteorologist & Co-founder of Agrible

Learn how weather, technology, and prediction has influenced crop production and evolved in the Corn Belt for the last 70 years. You’ll learn how to use meteorologists’ tools to predict weather conditions and the influence these predictions have on commodity prices. Finally, we will forecast the weather for the remainder of the 2018 growing season and issues with yields. We will also forecast harvest long range weather both in the US and in South America.

Ron Hanson, PhD – Harlan Agribusiness Professor Emeritus University of Nebraska

Dr. Hanson specializes in successful transitions of farm business ownership while helping families resolve conflicts in a more positive manner through effective communication. Through Ron’s college teaching career, he has earned over 31 university and national awards.
