RURAL VET SHORTAGE PUTS FOOD SUPPLY AT RISK

Increasing student loan debt, low wages and long hours are leading to a shortage of rural, large-animals vets. The lack of vets means the nation’s food animals are more vulnerable to disease outbreaks and could lead to infected animals going untested and entering the food supply. (NPR’s The Salt)
