CLOSING THE CHINA TRADE GAP EASIER SAID THAN DONE – According to the Wall Street Journal, American farms and factories won’t be able to produce enough exports to meet the White House’s goal of reducing the China trade deficit by $200 billion by the end of 2020. “The U.S. is operating at full employment,” said Chad Brown, a trade economist at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. “There isn’t a tremendous amount of underutilized U.S. capacity.”
