Sonny Perdue Wednesday said the USDA is drawing up plans for the ag industry in case the U.S. pulls out of NAFTA. “We’re talking with the administration and Congress about some mitigation efforts if that were to occur – about how we could protect our producers with that [agricultural] safety next based on prices that may respond negatively to any kind of NAFTA withdrawal,” Perdue said. The fifth round of NAFTA talks are set to begin in Mexico City next week. (Washington Examiner)
