U.S. ECONOMY GROWS IN 3RD QUARTER

The U.S. economy grew at a solid pace in the third quarter, expanding at an annual rate of 3 percent despite devastating hurricanes in Texas and Florida. Economists initially expected that Hurricanes Harvey and Irma would deal a blow to the country’s steady growth, but destruction from the storms was outweighed by consumer and business spending.
