BIG FARMS TRANSFORMING THE AG LANDSCAPE

Despite dipping commodity prices and extended operating loans, supersized farms in the corn belt are prospering – and changing the face of agriculture in America. According to the Wall Street Journal, farms with $1 million or more in annual sales – only 4 percent of the total- now produce two thirds of the country’s agricultural output, the largest portion since the USDA census began tracking the statistic in the 1980s.
