SWEET CORN HARVEST BENEFITS LESS FORTUNATE

Sweet Corn for Charity, part of the Agri Heritage Foundation, this month harvested fresh sweet corn at Rapp Farms near Princeton in Bureau County, putting a dent in the fresh produce needed for less fortunate Illinoisans. Sweet Corn for Charity, which annually plants and harvests about 67,000 pounds of sweet corn for the state’s food banks, donated the corn to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, River Bend Food Bank and Northern Illinois Food Bank.
