RAUNER VETOES SCHOOL FUNDING BILL

Gov. Bruce Rauner Tuesday vetoed the state’s proposed plan for divvying up education funding, saying the formula “put Chicago in line for millions more” that would be “diverted from other, needier districts.” Rauner rewrote the measure, taking away a $250 million block grant that Chicago Public Schools has long received and changing how the funding formula weighs Chicago’s pension funding.
