MINIMAL IMPACT FROM END OF E-10 TAX CREDIT

Despite the Illinois General Assembly’s decision to end the tax credit for gasoline containing 10% ethanol, industry experts expect the impact at the gas pump to be minimal. “There’s a 20% sales tax credit,” said Tricia Braid, communications director, Illinois Corn Growers’ Association. “If we assume that sales tax credit was being accrued to the motorist, which I don’t believe that’s the case, even if it were, with $2.30 gas, we’re talking about 2 cents.” (FarmWeekNow.com)
