On the surface, Illinois rainfall totals for June look decent, but the pattern was actually extremely variable. For areas on the light side of the precipitation scale, there’s no relief in sight, according to State Climatologist Jim Angel. “The areas that got rain in June will probably be okay, but areas that missed a lot of the rain in June will be in big trouble in July,” he said.
