Japan Friday said it would impose a temporary 50% tariff on frozen beef from the U.S. and several other countries, further straining trade relations between the U.S. and Japan. The action came after President Donald Trump named Japan as one of the countries contributing to the U.S. trade deficit. The increase, the first in 14 years involving beef, will jump the tariff from 38.5% to 50%. (Wall Street Journal)
