#ILLINOIS AVOIDS JUNK STATUS, AGAIN

Moody’s Investors Service Thursday said Illinois’ rating won’t be lowered to ‘junk’ status, but warned the state still faces serious financial challenges and long-term risks. Moody’s said the budget lawmakers passed earlier this month moved Illinois “closer to fiscal balance,” but a downgrade remains possible in the next two years. (Chicago Tribune)
