GOV TO GET EDUCATION BILL TODAY

Gov. Bruce Rauner is expected to receive and quickly veto the education funding formula bill today, adding his own changes to how Illinois divvies up funding for the state’s schools. Lawmakers are expected to override his veto, though not immediately, as several in both chambers have been absent during the last week. The bill must be approved by Aug. 10 for schools to receive funding for the year. (Chicago Tribune)
