Industry experts say removal of a 20% tax exemption at the wholesale level for E10 gasoline in the Illinois budget could lead wholesalers to stop using gasoline blended with ethanol and push gas prices up 7 to 10 cents per gallon. “There will probably be a movement to bring straight gasoline back into the state,” said Bill Fleischli, executive vice president of the Illinois Petroleum Marketers Association. “If that happens, it will hurt the sale of ethanol, in turn, hurting farmers.” (Illinois News Network)
