COULD #CORN BE A VICTIM OF #CLIMATE CHANGE?

A new study published by the U.K.’s national weather service finds that climate-induced drought could hit several of the world’s major corn producing regions at the same time. Using a new model to gauge water stress and simulate the current climate, researchers found that the annual probability of drought impacting corn producing regions is as high as 30%, or one in three years. In the U.S., the chance of all six Corn Belt states simultaneously experiencing drought is about 20% per decade. (Bloomberg)
