WHAT’S IN A NAME?

The State Fair Foundation is awaiting word from Gov. Bruce Rauner’s legal office on whether approval is required from the Illinois General Assembly to sell naming rights to buildings on the fairgrounds in Springfield and DuQuoin. Regardless, said John Slayton, chairman of the foundation’s board, fundraising will continue. “We have four or five conversations going,” Slayton said. “Personally, I don’t see a problem with naming rights if it’s going to pay for construction and repairs.” (State Journal-Register)
