RAUNER MAY CALL SPECIAL SESSION

Gov. Bruce Rauner Thursday said he may call a special session if lawmakers don’t return to Springfield soon to negotiate a budget. House Speaker Michael Madigan’s spokesman said calling a special session creates unnecessary expenses because lawmakers would have to be paid mileage and per diem. Lawmakers said they would operate under a ‘continuous session’ beginning May 31, which doesn’t require lawmakers be paid those expenses. (FOX Illinois)
