RAUNER CALLS LAWMAKERS BACK TO SPRINGFIELD

Gov. Bruce Rauner Thursday called lawmakers back to Springfield for a special session to tackle Illinois’ two-year budget impasse. The special session will stretch from June 21 to June 30, keeping lawmakers in Springfield until the end of the current fiscal year. The governor’s decision came on the heels of an announcement that the Powerball and Mega Millions lotteries will leave Illinois by the end of the month if a budget deal isn’t reached.
