China has promised to evaluate eight varieties of U.S. GMO crops by the end of this month under a new trade deal signed last Thursday. The deal marks a step forward in a years-long process that has held up seed sales in the U.S., and will cover seeds developed by Monsanto, Dow Chemical and DuPont which have been stuck in the Chinese approval process for up to six years.
