US, EU CLEAR CHEMCHINA, SYNGENTA DEAL

U.S. and European regulators have cleared ChemChina’s proposed $43 billion buyout of Syngenta on condition it sells some business to satisfy anti-monopoly objections. ChemChina agreed to sell businesses that make an herbicide, an insecticide and a fungicide whose combined market shares with Syngenta would harm competitions. If completed, the deal would be China’s biggest foreign acquisition to date. (ABC News)
