UNDOCUMENTED WORKERS PUT FOOD SYSTEM AT RISK

A new study by the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future finds that the lack of legal protections for undocumented agricultural workers threatens both public health and a reliable food supply. Acknowledging the need for a migrant workforce to support farms and processing, the report calls for a path to citizenship for the undocumented workforce, as well as a host of other changes to wages, healthcare and safety inspections.
