Five local FFA members explored ways to “Maximize” leadership and professional skills at the Illinois Farm Bureau & Affiliates Youth Conference April 10-11 in East Peoria.

McLean County Farm Bureau offers sponsorship for one student from each local FFA chapter that participates in our annual Acquaintance Day program to attend the conference. Chapters can send additional students at their own expense.

“Maximize” was the theme of the 2017 youth conference, an annual event for FFA members in their junior year of high school. The conference is sponsored by the Illinois Farm Bureau family of companies.

More than 350 students, FFA advisors and volunteers from across the state participated in team competitions, breakout sessions, a college career fair and heard from motivational speakers.

Conference attendees also donated 589 nonperishable food items to the hunger relief efforts of the Farm Bureau Harvest for All program.

The annual two-day conference is sponsored by Illinois Farm Bureau and its affiliated companies, which include GROWMARK, COUNTRY Financial, Prairie Farms Dairy and the IAA Credit Union.
