‘ENERGY STAR’ PROGRAM ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK

Despite saving Americans and businesses $34 billion and preventing more than 300 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions in 2014 alone, the EPA’s Energy Star program is one of 50 programs on the chopping block in President Donald Trump’s budget plan. The program, which rates the energy efficiency of products, homes and businesses, has been administered by the U.S. government since 1992. (NPR)
