CRP BLAMED FOR PALMER AMARANTH SPREAD

#Iowa #Farmers are battling the rapid spread of Palmer amaranth after purchasing seed for their ground enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program. Seeds for the weed, which can destroy as much as 91% of corn on infested land if left unchecked, were mistakenly added to wild flower and grass mixes then sold to farmers. NRCS is considering giving financial assistance to farmers to help control the spread of the weed. (Reuters)
