With the “yeas” of all but one committee member and one abstention, Senate Agriculture Committee voted today to officially recommend former Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue for the next U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. Still yet to be determined is whether Perdue’s nomination will be considered before the legislative body takes up Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch. “We need to get Governor Perdue down to USDA to get to work,” said Sen.
