CONSUMERS ARE WINNING THE #FOOD WAR

Prices of grocery items declined 1.3% last year, compared with the year before, bringing the first annual decline since 1967. As food prices fall, retailers are becoming more aggressive in trying to sell higher volumes to maintain revenue leaving consumers the big winner. “It’s created a price war among everybody,” said Phil Lempert, founder of supermarketguru.com. “This is great news for consumers, but bad news for businesses who sell food.” (USA TODAY)
