AGRICULTURE PICK WEIGHS TIGHTER BUDGET

Sonny Perdue, the Trump administration’s nominee to head the U.S. Department of Agriculture, told Senators on Thursday that the federal agency would need to function more efficiently to cope with a smaller budget proposed by the president. Perdue has “some concern” about President Donald Trump’s proposal to cut the USDA’s discretionary budget by about one-fifth to its lowest level since 1988. (Wall Street Journal)
