February 2017 is the warmest on record in Illinois, beating the statewide record of 40 degrees by one-tenth of a degree. The average for the month is more than 10 degree above normal. Earlier this week, the National Weather Service reported Chicago would go without measurable snow in January and February for the first time 146 years. (State Journal-Register)
