SELL-BY LABELING TO CHANGE

The two largest trade groups for the grocery industry recently announced they’ve adopted more consistent voluntary guidelines to clear up what product date labels mean. Instead of 10 separate label phrases, manufacturers will now be encouraged to choose from only two: “Use By” and “Best if Used By.” (Chicago Tribune)
