Farm Safety Focus of Breakfast

Identity theft prevention served as the focus for the 2017 Farm Safety Breakfast held Jan. 31 at the Pontiac Elks Club.

About 50 farmers and farm employees attended the event.

Brian McGill, IAA Credit Union, reminded attendees to use unique passwords for online accounts and use caution when accessing sites via free wi-fi (not protected by a password).

Following the breakfast, Kevin Rund and Kirby Wagner with Illinois Farm Bureau, provided an in depth look at trucking regulations for farmers.

Topics focused on the latest “Covered Farm Vehicle” exemptions, the new J51 license and USDOT number requirements. For more details, click here or contact McLean County Farm Bureau (309) 663-6497.

The breakfast was sponsored by Livingston and McLean County Farm Bureaus® and Prairie Central Co-Op. Funding was also provided in part through a farm safety grant from Illinois Farm Bureau® and COUNTRY® Financial.
