U.S. STRIKES EXPORT DEAL WITH SOUTH KOREA

The U.S. has reached an agreement to export shell eggs to South Korea as the country works fights through its worst outbreak of bird flu in history. The deal, negotiated by the USDA, will enable shipments ahead of peak egg demand in the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday season. More than 30 million birds have been culled in South Korea, most of them egg-laying hens, since the outbreak began in November. (Reuters)
