The #Illinois Senate won’t vote on a proposed bipartisan compromise to end the state’s 18-month budget stalemate before the end of the Lame Duck session. Instead, Democratic and Republican leaders will refile the legislation, which includes an income tax increase, a soda tax, pension changes and elements of Gov. Bruce Rauner’s turnaround agenda, immediately after the new General Assembly is sworn in Wednesday. (State Journal-Register)
