MN COUNTIES SEEK DELAY IN BUFFER LAW

Officials in several Minnesota counties are seeking a delay in implementing a law which planned for the construction of  50-foot buffers to prevent fertilizer runoff. The counties say there is confusion and questions about details of the law, in addition to the fact the state’s planned funding for the project was vetoed and there’s no plan in place to compensate landowners for land taken out of production. The program was set to take effect in November. (Minnesota Public Radio)
