65% of Americans prefer to grow alternative energy sources, compared with 27% who prefer to expand use of fossil fuel sources, a new Pew Research Center survey finds that. Support for renewable fuels follows party lines, with 81% of Democrats favoring other fuel sources; just 45% of Republicans say alternative fuels should be a priority while 44% say growing fossil fuels should be a main concern.
