REPORT: NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT EFFORTS FAILING

A report by the Mississippi River Collaborative says nutrient reduction strategies of states in the Mississippi River Basin lack “the minimal building blocks necessary for the reduction of nutrient pollution” and that the EPA has failed to require “enforceable regulations, specific deadlines or funding” to help reduce nutrient losses. The report reviewed nutrient management plans in several states, including Illinois. (Des Moines Register)
