#ORGANIC DIRT?

The National Organic Standards Board, an advisory groups that makes recommendations to the USDA, will hear testimony this week regarding whether hydroponic or aquaponic produce can be certified organic. Hydroponic proponents say their methods are no different and make organic farming more sustainable, while opponents say that organic production is all about caring for the soil, so produce must be grown in the soil to be certified organic.
