RELAXED CUBAN TRADE RULES BENEFIT IL BUSINESSES

The latest changes in Cuban trade restrictions, which allow for tractors and certain agricultural products like pesticides and fertilizers to be sold on credit, means that many Illinois businesses will now be able to cash in on deals with the communist country. According to the Illinois Cuba Working Group, if further trade restrictions on corn and soybeans are lifted, Illinois could see further trade income, accounting for 15 percent of Cuba’s total imports of the commodity crops.
