NC FARMS UNDER WATER FOLLOWING HURRICANE

Tens of thousands of chickens, hogs and other livestock are likely dead after floodwaters overtook confined animal feeding operations in eastern North Carolina counties following Hurricane Matthew. Surveillance helicopters over Cumberland and Robinson counties Tuesday reported that floodwaters had reached at least a half-dozen poultry houses and possibly some hog houses. (Washington Post)
