ELECTION POLITICS: AG ISSUES

During an agricultural roundtable in Boynton Beach, Fla., Monday, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump  said the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency “has been a disaster” and “regulations have been a total catastrophe,” according to the News-Gazette. He also criticized the North American Free Trade Agreement, saying that with “NAFTA we get nothing except the drugs.” Meanwhile, Politico says former Arkansas Senator Blanche Lincoln, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, and California Agriculture Secretary Karen Ross top Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s list of potential candidates for USDA Secretary.
