A team of scientists from DuPont Pioneer this week announced they have discovered a new corn rootworm-killing gene to help combat the resistance being found in the Bt-corn currently on the market. DuPont Pioneer says the products containing the new gene won’t be the on the market for at least a decade. Monsanto also is in the process of developing a new product to combat corn rootworm resistance, called RNA interference. (NPR’s The Salt)
