Piatt County #farmer Paul Doane is doing his part to curb nutrient losses by stabilizing a streambank on his property, with help from the Piatt County Farm Bureau, Piatt County Soil and Water Conservation District and Illinois Farm Bureau.  The project will help reduce nitrogen and phosphorus from building up in the Lake Decatur Watershed. “It’s part of a nutrient loss reduction strategy,” said Emily Zelhart, manager, Piatt County Farm Bureau. “We need to do our part to reduce that runoff and improve our water quality. Farmers are taking a big step to help with these projects.” (Herald & Review)
