IL HOUSE, SENATE ON FOR WEDNESDAY SESSION

Lawmakers will return to Springfield Wednesday to continue working on a stopgap spending plan for the state. Senate President John Cullerton said Thursday he was summoning his members back to the statehouse; House Speaker Michael Madigan confirmed House members would be in session as well. Governor Rauner suggested Democrats and Republicans were nearing a deal on a short-term spending plan, though that plan would be tied to helping Chicago Public Schools dig out of its financial hole.
