A jury in Scott County last month found in favor of hog producers who had animals at a commercial hog-feeding operation and had been sued by 10 residents seeking $7.5 million in damages because they say the operation is a nuisance that diminishes their use and enjoyment of their property. Springfield attorney Stephen Kaufmann who represents the hog producers said the verdict was “a significant victory for the Illinois pork industry,” as reported by the State Journal Register.
