Ten small Midwestern businesses, paired with local mentors, came together Tuesday for the first-ever Food Innovation Challenge in Decatur. The competitors vied for $100,000 in cash and services for the winning food innovation idea. The contest’s cash prize was sponsored by ADM, with services donated by National Foodworks Services, which opened eight weeks ago with ADM’s support to assist entrepreneurs in starting or expanding food-based businesses.
