The Environmental Protection Agency today held its first and only hearing in Kansas City, Mo., to allow both pro- and anti-ethanol groups the change to weigh in on the agency’s proposal to boost the amount of renewable fuels blended into gasoline. Last month, the agency announced plans to increase output of biofuels to 18.8 billion gallons, still under the 24-billion-gallon threshold set in 2007. The EPA is expected to make its final ruling by the end of the year. (State Journal-Register)
