ICGA Seeking Candidates for District Director

The Illinois Corn Growers Association District 7 seat will be open in the upcoming ICGA election. The new director will be elected and seated on the board in November, 2016. District 7 includes DeWitt, Macon, McLean, Moultrie, Piatt and Woodford counties.

If you are looking for an opportunity to enhance the profitability of corn farmers, to make new contacts, develop a strong sense of personal mission, and add to your committee and board experience, ICGA seeks your involvement and leadership. The board does not pay a per diem, but travel, lodging and meeting expenses are reimbursed.

As stated in the bylaws, board directors must be a resident of Illinois and a producer or retired/absentee landlord who derives a substantial portion of his/her income from the production of corn.

To declare your intent to run, you may fill out a petition (available upon request) with signatures of 25 ICGA members in your district and submit to the office by Sept. 1 OR attend the June 1-2 board meeting OR August 23-24 board meeting at the ICGA office in Bloomington to declare your intent to run.

If you or someone you know is interested in being a candidate, please contact Kayla Veeder at the ICGA office at 309-557-3257 for more information.
